Though dogs are considered carnivores, they are not true carnivores such as cats. However, their bodies are able to produce essential amino acids, so they do not require these from a diet of solely meat. The basics of dog treat recipes include egg and salt. You would then add a grain or flour and may add items to flavor the dog treat recipes. The dough can then be rolled out and shaped into whatever form you'd like before placing in an oven usually around 350 degrees. The following are some examples of dog treat recipes.
Mix 1 egg, 2 spoons of peanutbutter, a little bit of water, and 1/2 a cup of milk in to a large bowl. Then pour in 1 and 1/4 cups of flour and a dash of salt. Stir well and heat in a 350 degree oven.
This next one contains chicken livers, a tasty treat for your pet. Liquify 1 pound of chicken livers in a blender. When finished mix in 1 egg. Pour the mixture into a bowl. Add 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of corn meal and 1 tablespoon of garlic powder. Mix together and spread onto greased baking sheet. Bake 15 minutes in a 400 degree oven. Cut into shapes while still warm.
